This is a variation on the old “Don’t open email from Fred Bloggs” type of hoax that has circulated on the Internet for many years. In this case, the message is spread through Facebook posts rather through email, and it claims that accepting Facebook friend requests from someone called Bobby Roberts will lead to the Apocalypse. Or something like that. The message looks something like this, according to Graham Cluley at Sophos (hope you don’t mind my borrowing your transcription, Graham!) :
**WARNING!!!! DO NOT ACCEPT FRIEND REQUESTS FROM ~~~ BOBBY ROBERTS ~~~ Profile picture is four colored pictures ~~ A hacker and fake name !!!! the name will DESTROY EVERYTHING!!! PLEASE... COPY THIS TEXT ON YOUR STATUS SO THAT YOUR FRIENDS ARE WARNED************* PASS THIS ALONG A.S.A.P
I could have had some fun deconstructing this rubbish, but Graham has already done his usual excellent job on it, so if you want to know more, check out the link above.
