User Education

No, I’m not revisiting the “yes it’s essential/no it doesn’t work” debate on this occasion.

Every year around the beginning of October (National Cybersecurity Awareness Month in the US) I see appeals for resources to add to various repositories. As someone who’s generated a lot of documentation about security,  I think “yes, I should do that.” And every year the intention gets lost in an avalanche of competing demands.

Chet Wisniewski seems to have done rather better: in an article called Educating users for a safer internet at the new Sophos “Naked Security” resource, he gives links to a number of useful tools such as his own podcast, the Sophos “Threatsaurus” – nice title, guys 🙂 – and their social media security toolkit.

Useful stuff, not just for home users, but for those responsible for the education and safety of corporate users.
