Ugly Facebook social engineering ploy

The ESET blog post Boonana Threat Analysis is mainly focused on the malware. But one of the social engineering ploys described there is worth noting here, in case you haven’t met it before: it’s somewhat innovative and unpleasant. (Well, no-one said that cybercriminals were nice people.)

“As you are on my friends list I thought I would let you know I have decided to end my life. For reasons that will be clear please visit my video on this site. Thanks for being my friend. “
